I have to say that I had no idea that promoting Unchained Hearts would be so exhausting and fulfilling at the same time. I could talk about the characters and this story forever because it was so much fun to write. The difference now is that in the 20+ years it took me to get to this point, a lot has happened in life to shape me and it’s still happening. As a friend of mine said, I’ve matured. Basically I’ve gotten older, LOL. Wiser? maybe.
I’m definitely loving the publicity the book is getting and I’m fascinated that people want to know about me but as one host said, people want to know about the mind behind the book. Oh that’s dangerous 🙂
So here a few things I’ve been up to since it all started:
Isobelle Cate’s Blog Highlight
Literary Symposium Podcast
Bennet Pomerantz’ Anything Goes (Valentine’s Day)
Dirk and Kam’s showcase
And there are more podcasts, interviews, and highlights to come! I’m taking a different route with the guest posts. I had this idea for my first guest post and it’s turning out to be a good thing. I’m sharing some “cutting room floor” pieces of the book. Basically expanding on an a particular scene in the book and putting my own take on it. This seems fun as it’s not the same post over and over. It gives readers a little bit of a glimpse of the characters, gives them a deeper sense of them.
This doesn’t mean that book 1 is incomplete. It’s not to me as I made it a point to make sure that I like it before the publisher gets it. I am not shy about stating that I write for me and me only. But, I wanted the audience to really see and understand the characters like i (think) I do.
I’m also “borrowing” a teaser idea from my fellow author Katherine Rhodes and I’m hoping to get that underway in March/April.
I’ll also be gearing up for Book 2. I’ve shared a rough excerpt with a few and I’m looking forward to keep doing that until it launches hopefully in April. Lots of work but it’s fun.
Stay tuned…
